1. IntroductionThe Leo club of Singapore Raffles City and Leo club of Ngee Ann Polytechnic are formed by our sponsoring Lions Club of Singapore Raffles City. Under the Lions Club’s guidance and sponsorship, both clubs have been actively involved in community service projects such as home visits and organizing festive celebrations at various homes in Singapore. Various fundraising projects such as the sale of phone cards, lollipops and newspaper collections have also been held to raise funds for needy homes.

1) Little Sister of the Poor
2) Children’s Cancer Foundation
3) Lions Home for the Elders
4) Spastic Children’s Association of Singapore
5) Boys Town Singapore
Throughout these years of service, our clubs have contributed tremendously in helping the less fortunate and underprivileged in Singapore. Likewise, for this year, we will be embarking on our signature “Wealth of Love” Project, which is an Island-wide street sale in aid of Lions Home for the Elders and Lions Befrienders Service Association.
2. The BeneficiariesThe Lions Home for the Elders understands the importance of providing quality care to the elderly in Singapore and offers residential services for the destitute, frail and aged sick. It is a voluntary welfare organization that is one of the first few nursing homes to be accredited as an Approved Service Provider by the Ministry of Health, Lions Home for the Elders works to give residents a sense of dignity while enjoying maximum independence possible as they receive medical and nursing care and undergo rehabilitation. Lions Befrienders Service Association (Singapore) [LBSA] is a Voluntary Welfare Organisation which was founded in 1995 by the Lions Clubs of Singapore and a Lions District Project. We are also a registered member with the National Council of Social Service, the local social services sector’s umbrella body. Our core mission is to aid in the social, psycho-emotional and physical well-being of lonely seniors through community participation whilst upholding our belief that every older person is a valued member of society and deserves to age with grace and dignity. 3. The ProjectThrough this project, we have also hoped to reach out to the Leo members from the two sister clubs and to instill in them the spirit of caring and sharing for the less fortunate together with the Lions club. This will also enable the members to work together hand in hand not only in the planning stage but also to strive hard in reaching for the targeted amount which would in turn benefit the community as a whole.
The fund-raising project will be in the form of a major street sale Island-wide. Details of the project are as follows:

Proposed date: 14 Match 2010 (Sunday)
Proposed time: 9a.m. to 6p.m.
Proposed venue: Orchard Road/Marina Square/Bugis/Tampiness/Woodlands/Jurong/Toa Payoh
Targeted amount: $30,000 Singapore Dollars
Beneficiary: Lions Home for the Elders and Lions Befrienders Service Association.
We will be selling Paper Craft at a fixed price of $2.00 each. A booth will be set at SMU. This will serve as the registeration point for the volunteers.
